I really REALLY want to say the Huntsman but I'm not sure. Since I read somewhere that even Henry isn't sure who he is, I don't know if that would be that obvious.
I'm still not an Emma fan. Not into the character. I'm rooting for everyone. Even the Queen at this point over her.
Tonight was amazing! And I feel like The Sheriff almost has to be the huntsman. He's still working for The Queen, he's still basically doing her bidding, etc.
I'm rooting for basically everybody, I guess. Except for Regina/The Queen obviously. She almost killed a unicorn. That is NOT okay! For the first time I was Team Maleficent, I couldn't believe it. (But to be fair, I wasn't allowed to watch the animated Sleeping Beauty when I was a kid so my knowledge of her came from Faerie Tale Theatre.)
I want more characters! I want Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, etc. Though, there you do run into the whole "how many Prince Charmings" can one land have, thing. As they have clearly set Snow/Charming up as a OTP kind of thing, I can't believe they'd go the "Prince Charming is a philandering bastard" route (plus, they're already getting enough flack for ripping off Fables).
Emma, cutting down part of the apple tree, was awesome!
The food geek in me had to snicker about Regina's big speech about honeycrisp apples in the face of visuals of red delicious apples in the basket. Bad detail there! :P
My many thoughts, in list form because orderliness is fun.
-Seeing Emma chop down the apple tree in the promos, I reasonably assumed that this was to eliminate some source of Regina's power o something, only no. It turns out that she took a chainsaw to the Mayor's beloved childhood apple tree just to taunt her. I love you, Emma. -My hackles were definitely up at the appearance of the hot cocoa. "I'm not here to flirt, I'm here to do a job." YES. YOU TELL HIM. -Oh my god, Robert Carlyle is turning into a living "Oh Snap" moment. EQ got the Big Bad Curse from Rumpelstiltskin? OH SNAP. Pretty much everything he said and did in the final scene? OH SNAP. -I'll take that as support for the Trickster theory. Rumps is clearly playing both sides to his advantage, and look how many fucks he doesn't give. -When Archie just handed over Henry's file I literally shouted, "You are the worst psychiatrist ever!" at my TV. I am glad it turned out to be a nasty plot from Regina and not just a confidentiality violation. -For a while Henry seemed to teeter on the brink of 'Precocious Television Child' territory, but I really liked how in this episode he seemed to handle things the way a typical kid would. He was upset that Emma didn't automatically believe him even though his story was nuts, he went all sullen and silent instead of going over-the-top dramatic, and Operation Cobra? Bless his little heart. -Also liked how Emma and Regina's Battle Royale is so blatant and frank. None of this typical sneaky, catfighty, 'frenemy' bullshit that most television shows seem to think is the only acceptable way for women to display rivalry. My fandom doesn't use subtle social sabotage, my fandom uses a chainsaw! -A preference for cinnamon with your cocoa is a genetic trait, apparently? -Maleficent has a miniature black unicorn for a pet. HELL YES.
