I agree Emma's character still has a way to go to feel more than a snark knight observer, and feel involved in the story to viewers. But I think she was written miles better here than in the pilot. I actually believed this was a woman who was a bounty hunter (call back to my Stephanie Plum series obsession!), and some rich lady wasn't going to scare her off easily.
Give me more of this girl, Once!
I think the show and Emma's character desperately needed the Snow/Emma scene to cement her, tonight. I love how much it devastated Emma, because here's the slap in the face that Henry is crazy, because how can this woman be her mother? AND, how can Emma seriously believe this is her mother, because she feels a huge connection! That's some good character angst.
OT, but I thought I was alone in my feelings until I saw your icon. But Rumples/everyone tbh, that man and character has chemistry with everyone. Plus what a twist to the Red/Wolf storyline!
Since I read somewhere that even Henry isn't sure who he is Yes, I thought that too, to where I was wondering if since Emma is Show's Princess, not the traditional fairytales', perhaps the sheriff is Show's Prince. I'd like it more though if they played around with different character relationships, like with your icon!
That Mary/Emma scene did help, I did like the OMG WTF looks of Emma's realization.
Rumple/Gold is so awesome that he DOES have chemistry with everyone. And that Wolf storyline is something I will be tackling soon. I might be doing it in my next story. I have one that's being beta'd now that is lighter than my other ones.
And you're right about the character relationships. I wish everyone wasn't so OTP (though right now I'm shipping Ruby with basically everyone. Gold, Archie and then Graham.) And it seems they ARE setting Sheriff up to be Emma's OTP though if he were The Huntsman he would kinda be with the Queen too (if you take the 10th Kindom approach. The Evil Queen (though not Snows) was in love with her Huntsman)
*HIGH FIVES* I just got to part one and waited because my Sister yelled at me not to continue because we were going to watch it together as we usually do. I'm obsessed and own an obnoxious amount of 10Kmerch.
When it first came out it came out in a set which included the movie on VHS (which I ended up having to reorder a few times because it was chewed up), the soundtrack and the book (it was basically the series, just written out with more elaborations and came with the photoset in the middle).
That's all there was and I have it all. Plus I hunted down the song from the trailer "Let me go back" a few years ago and listen to it to this day.
LOL! I love your icon! Here's my 10K icon! I have more here: 10K Icons (13) (http://dj-rocca.livejournal.com/123910.html)
And techincally at that point in Fairy Tale Land, shouldn't the wolf be dead? I'm going by the stance of Red and Granny were saved and the wolf was killed. After that Red takes a "Into the Woods" turn and starts to become more of a hunter and carries weapons to protect herself. But that's just me ;)
But I have to say: in Snow White's tale, the witch died didn't she? So did Maleficent. So perhaps it wasn't necessary for the Wolf to die either. Maybe like Maleficent it was all "well you know nature of evil and balance, like, such as, bs blah blah"
Red/Hunter (woah what if Sheriff is THAT huntsman instead of Regina's original one?)/Granny: Sounds legit!
