Being the fourth episode of our third season with these lovely characters.
Usual rules apply
1) Politeness is a virtuous habit and we wish to apply it to all our musings.
2) This is, please, for speculation about the next episode. What you the viewer thinks is going to happen next based on the official vids from ABC and the press release that comes out Monday or Tuesday which I have put behind the cut for those who don’t wish to read it.

Date: 2013-10-15 07:05 pm (UTC)This is the second time that pipes are coming into the episode because if you look at the "next on OUAT" vid you see Pan playing the pipes. So is Pan the Piped Piper in our story?
Also since the press release says teenage Bae, then Rumple has to be the Dark One according to continuity so this may be the beginnings of the Pan vs. Dark One story. We know they have encountered each other before and it didn't go well so may be this episode is our explanation

Date: 2013-10-15 07:36 pm (UTC)That would be pretty cool. The other day you (I think) mentioned that OUaT's Pan is "in the mold of the Greek version of Pan." Other than the flute thing, what other similarities are there? Between all three of them (my Greek mythology's a little rusty)?
"Also since the press release says teenage Bae, then Rumple has to be the Dark One"
Not necessarily. Didn't he become the Dark One right around Bae's 14th birthday? I think you're right, that he will already be the Dark One for this episode (I haven't seen any pictures or anything), but it might be interesting if his relationship with Pan began before Rumple became powerful and maybe it was even another impetus that led to Rumple seeking power and magic. ooh! The possibilities! I'm excited for Sunday!

Date: 2013-10-15 08:02 pm (UTC)It was me wondering if they were going to the greek god way with Pan. And the more I see the more I wonder.
Depending on which version of the tales of Pan that you read, he was the god of shepherds and their flocks along with hunting and rustic music. He was attached to the wilds of Arkadia and had a bad habit of being a bit of a nymph chaser. The flock thing does turn back to Rumple since he was a spinner of wool.
He is suppose to have goat feet but can use magic to hide them.
