This is the second time that pipes are coming into the episode because if you look at the "next on OUAT" vid you see Pan playing the pipes. So is Pan the Piped Piper in our story?
Also since the press release says teenage Bae, then Rumple has to be the Dark One according to continuity so this may be the beginnings of the Pan vs. Dark One story. We know they have encountered each other before and it didn't go well so may be this episode is our explanation
