About "selfless, brave, and true"...

One thing still bugs me about Selfless, Brave, and True...it was a good idea, but...

August's plan was...what?, to run out of the sheriff's office and try to find Emma and the others, all before he finished turning back into wood?
(what would've happened if they had come across him too late, lying on the ground, a puppet once more? would anyone have thought to hit the reset, if he hadn't been able to say any of the warning?)

I guess I'm just confused why August didn't write down "Beware of Tamara" or something to that effect before looking for everyone.

As I recall, August was tempted by Tamara to leave Storybrooke and find the Dragon's vial at her apartment so he could reverse the process of becoming wooden again. It isn't until he sees the picture of her grandmother in Tamara's car that August realizes she's lying. He races back to the sheriff's department to warn Emma, but no one is there. He picks up the phone to call her, and Tamara appears. She tases him and he is barely able to stumble outside. August collapses and tries to warn them before he dies.

I've only seen the episode once, and that was when it first aired, so I might have the timeline wrong...but I don't see how there was a lot of time for August to try to write a note, considering Tamara was standing there with her Taser.

Besides, these characters do things that I consider to be stupid all the time! It drives me nuts sometimes! :)

this is true. there also wasn't a lot of time for him to run around town in the hope he would find someone.

Yes, it's true he wouldn't have had time to run around town. I think leaving the station had more to do with getting away from Tamara than finding Emma/someone to tell.

ETA: Upon rereading the rest of my comment about Mary Margaret, I'm afraid it might be taken as bashing. I love the character and I am in no way bashing her, but I'm going to remove that part of my comment just in case.

I would venture to suspect that Snow's prided herself on never resorting to trickery. (aside from twice that time she captured Regina and was about to kill Regina)

just a theory. {and I didn't read your comment as bashing Snow, just disappointment in a scene when compared to the character's accomplishments}

She might have left...I really don't remember for sure. I dunno, maybe August was all dazed and wooden and not thinking straight. ;)

And yeah, I hear what you're saying about Snow.

maybe Snow's like those people who manage to avoid germs - when they do get a cold, it knocks them right down. (as opposed to everyone else's hearts, looking like they'd been taken from a chest that morning, devoid of spreading ink)

I took it as that he already was wooden, but the curse breaking let him be animated again. It wasn't that he was about to turn into inanimate puppet again. Then things occurred like how Gorengal said.

That's just my reading.

As for Snow's trickery...also that time she tricked Regina into killing Cora. (Which I thought was an awesome moment for her.)
