Episode Discussion 2x02: We Are Both

While Regina continues to find a way to regain her magical powers, David continues his quest to uncover the whereabouts of Mary Margaret and Emma; and the seven dwarves discover what happens when any of the townspeople try to step past the city limits of Storybrooke. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, as her wedding day to King Leopold approaches, Regina is confronted by a man of magic who promises to help her become independent and break free from her mother Cora's clutches.

Jefferson was a bit more caustic about it, granted.
(though he raises a good point, if slightly indirectly: who gets custody of Grace? her parents of 28 years, or her father of roughly 8 years? she has memories of being raised by both, after all)

and I agree that its an interesting concept. question is, how do they {the two personalities} interact? (do David-personality and Charming-personality argue? or is David nothing more than a folder of memories Charming can leaf through whenever he wants?)

I think that David and Charming are one in the same. And so Charming has to content with the fact that HE did hurt Snow. That HE did think she murdered Kathrine. He has to hold himself accountable for that. So perhaps they don't argue... but he has to face the fact that as a cursed version of himself he made bad mistakes.

Based on what we've seen so far, I think Charming just has David's memories that he can refer to at any time. Sure, they make be fake, but they're still useful. Like how Charming knows about the Mad Hatter from David "reading" Alice in Wonderland.
