Too tired to think of a good 'thread' pun

Since the show has so many distinct and visually interesting costumes, I thought it'd be fun to discuss our favorites.

Most of Snow's costumes don't really do it for me, what with the white and the frillies, but I really like her 'wilderness survival' outfit with the furry collar. Pretty much all of Regina's 'Evil Queen' dresses rock, but I have a particular liking for her 'traveling' outfit in True North, with the leather capelet and that fabulous hat.



Yeah. Also, that lacy head thing she wears in the first couple of episodes and the promos.

Most everyone's 'real world' clothes are kind of blah. It's all in trendy, neutral non-colors. I think Ruby and Gold are the only ones whose 'real world' clothes don't completely bore me. That said, I do like Emma's tall brown boots, and Mary Margaret's knitted hats.

But my favorite favorite? Come on, you know it's Rumpelstiltskin. I absolutely love everything they put on him. IMO, his best costume is the one where he's selling Jiminy the puppety-people-potion in That Still Small Voice and he has on the waistcoat from his scaly-looking suit over a sort of jewel-tone blue shirt. It gives him a weirdly elegant (elegantly weird?) look.



I wish I could find a better picture. There's a shot of him in this scene where he's standing at the spinning wheel that shows off the costume very nicely. Sadly, I can't find a cap of it anywhere. Oh well.

I really liked the queens' furs in the last episode! Actually a lot of her outfits are pretty fabulous.

The Queen's outfits are pretty damn flawless! And even when you are wondering what she's wearing, they are at least interesting.

I completely adored her fur-trim in the last episode. The Genie didn't have a chance.



And I agree that Rumpel's clothing is so very interesting. It's all spiky and silky and then there are those really long boots. And the man is not afraid of color!

But I also love Gold's suits. More conservative certainly but he still looks excellent.

I really liked Red Riding Hood's outfit in 7:15 A.M. So much nicer than the tacky stuff she wears as Ruby.

While everyone is ragging on her outfits in the real world (and though I do think she is very pretty without all the heavy make up and revealing clothing), I think her stark contrast in appearance between the two worlds makes her really interesting. I want to know how she in the real world relates to the person in the story.

I hadn't thought of that. I still don't care for her real world clothes, but I agree that it's an interesting contrast.

I don't really like them that much either? But I think that I would be less interested in her storyline if she looked really similar to the Red in the fairy tale.
