When Hook punched Belle. To me, there had to be a better way to handle that scene. I have a real problem with perpetuating violence against women. I know he's supposed to be a pirate but there are kids who watch the show and look up to Hook. Not a good example to set, A&E. And while it is the parents' responsibility to explain such things to their children so many of them don't do it. So, the notion that it is okay to beat a woman is passed on.
Can I say "practically anything involving Anna"? Because blurting out every single thought that crosses your mind without thinking first is not cute or attractive or quirky. It's annoying and makes you like like an airhead. Every moment she's on screen I want to smack her in the face with a shovel.
Not for this. I did ask for your least fave moment, after all. I have to admit this whole Frozen story line makes me want to smack someone with a shovel. Pushing out main characters (Regina, Snow, et al) in lieu of characters from a movie irks me. Especially when it comes across as advertising since we are so close to the Holiday Season and Disney is pushing Frozen like it's the next coming of Christ.
Wow. I think I had completely forgotten about this moment. Interesting since I consider the show to be really feminist normally. Is it completely lame of me to point out a difference between violence and bad guys and domestic violence (and bad guys too)? IIRC, I don't think there were undertones of it's ok to beat a woman (or anyone...Rumple beat Hook. Rumple beat Belle's dad). All of these seemed to also have the judgment of these are bad people doing bad things. Also interestingly, I suppose all of those instances could be considered family violence. I think some states define it as violence with someone you had a dating relationship with or *because* of a dating relationship. I'm going to be thinking about this forever now.
I actually worked on my House/Cameron fan fic that I started about a year ago. I am now up to chapter five. Plus, I revised the first four chapters. They'll need more revision but I WROTE MORE!!
Excellent! Writing is my "good moment" this week as well. I finally struggled past the block that's been hounding me for weeks and weeks. Signing up for mini-wrimo was a good impetus to get off my butt as well.
Oh wow, hard one. I'm going to say Brian Kinney from Queer as Folk. He lived his life the way he wanted to and took no bullshit from anyone, yet loved his extended family of friends deeply (even if he had an odd way of showing it.)
Since they are both in his life now, I think they should continue to share parenting responsibilities. I do think they need to establish that Regina is "Mom" and Emma is "Emma". Regina raised him for most of his life and the curse brought Emma into his life. I know Regina gave them that year of being mother and son but it doesn't change the fact that Regina adopted him, raised him for 10 years, loves him dearly and is to all intents and purposes his mother. Emma is his mother but she's come in at a later date only because Henry sought her out to break the curse. I would love for A&E to address this more definitively than they have.
Following American adoption rules, Emma would have no legal claim to him and would have to let Regina have custody of him since technically she is his mother.
However, this is a TV show and they are a family whether they all like it or not.
You know, I'm kind of inclined to kind of sort of agree with you. LOL! Can you imagine the habits he'd pick up from Grampa Rumps? Also, I want Henry to call him Gramps or Granddad or some version of it. Could you imagine old Rumpel's expression??

Share your favorite TV character.....
Date: 2014-11-08 02:59 pm (UTC)I LOVED the first 3 seasons and liked season 4. Season 5 ruined it. Just flat out ruined the show.

I think my favorite TV character is Calvin from Greek. He's so wise and also flawed.
