From the ABC Press Release
One of the town's residents begins to remember their fairytale past, and Storybrooke mourns the loss of one of their own. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world that was, the Evil Queen attempts to find a heartless assassin to murder Snow White.
This is the story of Snow White told from the Huntsman’s point of view and it had a lot of information that would become very relevant to the overall mythos of Storybrooke.
Here are the questions to start the discussion.
1. Did you see this live or was it later?
2.What do you remember most about the episode?
3.Did you find anything surprising when you rewatched it? Like “Oh that’s where they set that up” or “I had forgotten that ______ happened here”
4. Graham started “seeing” things after Henry showed him the book. Kissing Emma brought it all back. Do you think that if Emma had gone around the town and kissed everyone they would have gotten their memories back?
5. Do you think Graham’s wolf was a wolf or something else?
6. Did you wonder at the time what the heck Gold was doing out in the woods with a gardening apron and a shovel?
7. Do you think that Graham’s “exit” raised the stakes? How?
8. Did this episode change your opinion or confirm your opinion of Regina and her personality?
9. Sadder death Graham or Bae? (Yes I know that’s jumping a head a bit)

Date: 2014-06-30 12:52 pm (UTC)1. I saw it after, maybe when season 2 was halfway underway, my husband found the series on Netflix.
2/3. See above!
4. No. Only true love+savior would break the curse. So I think that Graham got his memories back meant there were some true feelings between Graham and Emma.
5. Just a wolf. Maybe a totem, but not a shapeshifter or anything.
6. No. I'm really good at dismissing details that don't make sense immediately. And when I say "good," I mean I suck at paying attention to detail and foreshadowing.
7. Yes. Sh!t got real.
8. Not really. I think I already knew who she was.
9. Graham. I feel like Bae had served his purpose, but with Graham there was a lot of lost potential. (Not to disparage Bae and his potential. I'm sure there were a lot of ways the writers could have gone with him too.)

Date: 2014-06-30 03:45 pm (UTC)2. On the re-watch a couple weeks ago, it was the "Oh crap, this is when she kills Graham" moment.
3. Not that I recall.
4. I think that was a unique construct because of her being The Savior, not because she has hot, magic lips. Haha. :)
5. A totem, I guess, tying him to his old life. I did love the moment when Emma could see it too!
6. Yes - and I questioned why in the world Graham took his "gardening" answer at face value. Shows how messed up Graham was by then! :(
7. Well, it showed Regina was willing to do anything to take down people that Emma was influencing. And it showed how much her curse was weakening.
8. Confirmed the OMG she really IS the evil queen thoughts. :D
9. Graham.

Date: 2014-06-30 04:44 pm (UTC)2. Graham's death. And the WAY he died, that Regina was able to still crush his heart in the magicless Storybrooke and that she seemed to do it simply because he left her and she was mad at Emma. I also was struck by Graham remembering his life before the curse.
3. Nothing that I can recall offhand.
4. I don't think so. Perhaps Graham was a special case because he was developing feelings for Emma (and vice versa) or maybe he was because he didn't have his heart. But I don't think her running around kissing everyone would have caused their memories to return (could you imagine THAT storyline though? lol).
5. I think it was just a wolf. Or rather, Graham's wolf companion brought over from the curse. I thought it was a figment of his imagination until Emma saw it.
6. Oh definitely. That whole thing was SO sketchy. And all I kept thinking was "Really Graham? But you're the SHERIFF...and you don't find Mr. Gold's middle of the forest 'gardening' creepy?" I also remember giggling a bit because he's out with a shovel and a cane STILL IN A FREAKING SUIT.
7. Oh definitely. I mean, someone DIED. Anyone could die then. Who knows what other hearts Regina had? Who knew what else she would do it crossed. It definitely gave it a darker edge.
8. It pretty much confirmed my opinion that she was someone who would take out ANYONE who got in her way.
9. For me? Bae. Partially because I'm really into Rumple's story, but also because he was such a BIG part of the story. There would have been no curse, no story at all, if Rumple hadn't lost him. Graham was an interesting character and his death was horribly sad, but it didn't hit me the way Bae's did.

Date: 2014-07-02 03:47 pm (UTC)Right now, I'm really confused about how their relationship actually started. And I wish that Horowitz and Kitsis would clear up the matter on screen.
