Cinderella makes a deal and gets more than she bargained for.

This was our first real glimpse in Rumplestilskin in all his mad glory. Up to this point he was in a cage of more than one kind of making.

We got another retelling of a classic Disney Princess story with some twists and those twists play out in our world to some serious set up for things that happened a year to two years later.

So a few questions to get the discussion started.

1. Did you see this live or was it later?

2.What do you remember most about the episode?

3.Did you find anything surprising when you rewatched it? Like “Oh that’s where they set that up” or “I had forgotten that ______ happened here”

4. Ashley Boyd and Sean Herman’s story gave us insight in how the characters were translated into our world but things from the Enchanted Forest held over like Rumple’s proclamation that they would be apart until he got his part of the bargain. Did this make the series more interesting to you or less?

5. Did it make you want to know about the other citizens in Storybrooke?

6. How surprised were you when the fairy godmother went poof?

7. At this point we know that Gold is aware of who he is and what is going on or we are pretty much sure or at least I was, do you think he put Emma in the position of owing him a favor on purpose?

8. What about this episode did you enjoy the most? Is there anything you enjoy more knowing what is to come?

9. Regina and Emma’s interaction this episode set up their relationship or lack of one for most of this season and a chunk of the next. Did Regina shoot herself in the foot by making it hard for Emma to stick around?

The entire first scene between Rumple and Cinderella, but most especially his blowing up her fairy godmother. I laughed so hard over that. It was such a brilliant twist and Robert Carlyle played the whole scene beautifully. I just loved the way she blew up in this shower of sparks and the wand falls to the ground and in the silence that follows, they pan to Rumple picking it up. Just an awesomely done scene!
That scene was so fantastic!
I also love how the out-of-order storytelling in FTL ties in with this, the way we later learn how Rumple finds out about that fairy.
