Now There Are Two
Regina sat at a table at Granny’s drinking a cup a coffee.

Snow slid in to the booth across from her. “Regina, are you all right?”

Regina looked confused. “Why would I not be all right?”

“Your sister hates you. She is trying to kill you.” Snow said. “To make things worse, Henry doesn’t remember you.”

“Thank you for reminding me, Snow.” Regina leaned back in the booth. “She thinks I had everything but I had to pay the price for it. I was raised by our mother. It wasn’t exactly a fairytale with Cora, you know.”

“I can only imagine. My mother wasn’t like yours. I think the fact that your sister hates you is bothering you most.”

“She’s my sister. She should welcome me not want to kill me.” Regina took a sip of coffee. “I guess this is what sibling rivalry is like.”

“I wouldn’t know. I was an only child, remember.” Snow said.

“You will be dealing with it soon enough.” Regina glanced down at Snow’s baby bump. “I wonder if your two children will get along any better.”

Snow blinked. She rubbed her hand over her belly. “I hadn’t thought of that. Maybe the age difference will cancel it out.”

Regina chuckled. “You keep telling yourself that, Snow, and maybe the universe will hear you. Your little angels may turn into two evil witches if they think that one is getting more than the other. Just like me and my sister are doing now.”

“Emma.” Snow whispered.

“Yes Emma.” Regina said. “She didn’t get your love growing up like this child will. Don’t you see that there could be a problem?”

“But Emma is a grown woman she would be able to understand.” Snow said.

“So is Zelena.” Regina said.

Snow’s face went even paler. “What am I going to do?”

Regina turned to Ruby at the counter. “Can I get a refill and bring her a hot chocolate? She looks like she needs one.”

“Make it a double with extra cinnamon.” Snow said.

Regina could have reacted in many ways.

Run.

Give up.

Move on.

But she decided on something else.

Something the Evil Queen would do.

No, not murder.

But fight.

She was going to fight for the man she loved and fight for her happiness; their happiness. She’d suffered long enough, worked hard enough and damn it she was going to fight for her happy ending.

She wanted Robin and she knew he wanted her. He hadn’t been with his wife in years and had admitted to her that he’d moved on. He’d moved on with her and she wasn’t going to give that up easily.

So she’d sent Robin a note to meet her at their place in the forest. He’d know where she meant. It was where he’d told her she was stunning in every way.

She sighed thinking of that day; of that moment. She felt her skin tingle at the thought of seeing him.

She had a choice just like that day at the tavern. She chose not to go in. It was long before Marian and long before Roland. She wasn’t going to miss this chance again no matter what the outcome might be.

She wouldn’t be afraid of that now.

Regina checked herself in the mirror one last time.

Dusky midnight eyes glittered under her long black lashes.

Blood red lips shimmered as she pressed them together.

Dark raven hair fell like an ethereal halo around her pale skin.

And her blue sapphire dress fit tightly where it needed to accentuating all her finest assets.

She looked good. Very good.

Marian didn’t stand a chance.

Either did Robin.

Rivalry of the Birds

Power crackled in the room as the three women, each royalty in their own right, glared at each other. Their jaws were set with equal determination as they picked up butcher knives. Two started to cut into the dead things before them, but the third handed her knife, hilt first, to her husband. He looked at her in surprise, but Mary Margaret only smiled. "Every one knows the King should carve the turkey for his royal banquet."

"Of course you'd have Charming do it," Regina snapped.

Mary Margaret rose her head a notch higher. She thought of responding with a reminder to Regina that she had no man to carve her bird, but then thought better of it. After all, Daniel had died because of her, even if that had now been well over a hundred years ago.

"I told you they'd each think they'd have to have the chief gobbler for this feast," Granny told her granddaughter with no hushed tones. "They're going to make Thanksgiving, and every holiday, into a battle of egos, but we all know I'm the best cook."

"Well, that's why you had me catch the wild hog last night," Ruby said, looking down at the table and trying hard not to grin. If it hadn't been for her best friend's involvement in the estrogen fight, she would have been laughing aloud, but out of respect for Snow, she kept her laughter to herself until the gobbling started.

"Gobble! Gobble! Gobble!"

"What the -- ?"

"Regina, what did you do?"

"Don't look at me!" the former evil Queen declared, holding her hands high and apart as her own turkey also came to life.

When the three living turkeys jumped from the table and ran out the door, most of the dinner party followed suit, but Ruby and Granny sat down to eat hog. Rumpelstiltskin quietly shook his head, then reached over and land a hand on top of his wife's. "A hanging jaw is not fetching, dearie."

Belle shut her mouth quickly but still gaped in shock. "What just happened?" she asked her husband. "Did you do something?"

"Not I," he responded honestly, but his twinkling eyes turned to their child. He smiled as his baby gurgled with laughter. Emma Swan was no longer the only product of True Love, and this child, his child with his own True Love, was going to have a power that would be remembered throughout the ages, even longer, he suspected, than would the seemingly unending rivalry between the evil Queen and Snow White. He wondered idly what Mary Margaret had done to anger her daughter, then turned his attention to the feast before them and cutting the ham.

The End
