SUMMARY: based on the conversation suilestrange and I had, where she came up with this prompt:

I seriously need someone to write something about Emma breaking down after she made Walsh go poof. And Killian just sitting at the other side of the door, his head against the door listening to her muffled sobs. And he wants to go in there to console her but it’s not what she needs. So he just keeps standing there until it all goes quiet and she’ll sigh and get up and thank him. Because she just KNEW he was standing there, giving her space, truly saving her.  Because seeing her weak was the last thing she wanted.

This story has even more resonance when we find out about Walsh being the Wizard. He was a humbug to those in Oz, and a humbug to Emma as well.

Great title choice, too. "The Blower's Daughter" really fits with this story.

I originally wrote this right after 3.12 (way before we found out that Walsh was also the Wizard of Oz) but I must agree that looking back now the fact that Walsh was a fraud in a number of ways carries weight on this story as well.
