Speculation Post for Episode 8 of Season 3 Think Lovely Thoughts

We know who is in that other box and we know that Pan’s long game plan is a twisted one and it involves Henry and Magic and Belief

So what do you think is going to happen next for our brave characters? Are we looking at a three way with Neil, Hook, and Emma? Does Henry follow Peter down the primrose path to whatever the end game is? Wasn’t it nice to see Belle again and don’t you want to see more of Storybrooke?

"Think Lovely Thoughts" - Pan leads Henry to a secret cave, where he has convinced the boy that he alone can save magic and Neverland itself. But a showdown between good and evil is about to go down as Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold and Hook find themselves directly on a path to Pan in an effort to save Henry. Meanwhile, back in the Fairy Tale Land that was, young Rumplestiltskin is given a magical item that could help him make a fresh start with his father — who has been anything but a good dad, on "Once Upon a Time," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Michael Raymond-James as Baelfire/Neal Cassidy, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Guest starring are Robbie Kay as Pan, Rose McIver as Tinker Bell, Wyatt Oleff as young Rumplestiltskin, Colin Corrigan as thug, Stephen Lord as Malcolm, Lindsay Collins as spinster #1, Glynis Davies as spinster #2, Freya Tingley as Wendy and Marilyn Manson as The Voice of Shadow.

I'm so excited to learn more about Rumple and his father (but yes, frustrated that we won't see more in Storybrooke for a while).

I don't think I would like a threesome between Hook, Emma, and Neal. There is too much between Hook and Neal. (Was that the question? Or did my mind go someplace else?) But I'd like to see more of that tension. And I'd like to see more between Emma and Hook. Hook seems at least in part influenced by Jack Sparrow (his fashion and makeup sense at least), and I keep remembering Will at the end of the first movie saying that Jack's a good man. I'd like to see Emma see Hook as a good man. She writes him off as a pirate and focuses on the stereotypes. Pirates were someone else's privateers (though not saying he was a privateer...obviously not). Hook has never let her down (at least, that I can remember as I blabber on), but Neal really did.

I agree and Neal and her would just be a boring story-line imo, I see more happening with her and Hook and I see Hook being more passionate with her. Neal left her all alone and that damaged her, she needs to just move on from him and see where things go with Hook. But I am still worried they will kill Hook off or have him take Davids place with being stuck in Neverland. I also want to see more interaction with Snow and Emma, I want to see that mother/daughter relationship, they need to make progress, also Regina and Emma becoming friends would be cool imo, Regina is not all bad and she is changing, Id love to see that friendship grow. I really love Ariel she is so cute and refreshing to see on the show I hope we see more of her and her story, also I think her and Belle pair very well together as friends

And me too! Hook has terribly strong chances to die. He and Emma are a promising pair, but bringing together Henry’s parents seems to be a more likely solution to this love triangle. I think Hook might end up by sacrificing his life for Bae’s sake to honour Milah’s memory. But of course I would be happy to see him well and alive back in Storybrook.
And I’m thinking about Tink’s reaction on Bae’s reappearance in Neverland… Maybe she was simply happy to see one of her long lost acquaintances once again…or maybe she was happy to see HIM specifically, handsome and fully grown now, so there could be something more than friendship between them in the future. Well, I’m just fantasizing. :)

I was interested in the history between Bae and Tink too. I wonder what went on there.

I think it's interesting (and not *really* incestual) that Hook is competing with his lover's son. Milah and any feelings that he had to honor her make the situation that much more interesting.

And I wonder whether Neal already knows that his mom ran away with Hook all those years ago... I can't remember anything about it in previous episodes. So even without competing for Emma, Neal has a lot to blame Hook for. Must be interesting, but sad also :(

Bae found a picture of Milah in Hook's things, and Hook told him their history. It's why Bae left Hook.

Honestly, the Hook/Emma relationship is very fan-service-y to me. I mean, we jumped from her not thinking he was a scum bag, to her full on making out with him, to THEN her having conflicting feelings about Hook and Neal? In the span of how many episodes, exactly? It's silly, and I would've shipped them, but they're too one-dimensional for me.

I am seriously looking forward to getting some more Rumple and possibly Pan backstory.

And Marilyn Manson as the voice of the Shadow? I am unsure but willing to give it a go.

And I am interested in how Pandora's Box fits into all this. If they open the box then evil will be released but it could trap Pan within? Whatever happens, the first plan is not going to work. They never do.

Well, Rumple told Bay that he and Peter had grown up together. So he is unlikely to be the evil from the Box. :)

Just to be clear: I don't actually think I'm right. I just kinda thought pandora->evil->pan->the first three letters of pandora.

But, for the sake of I really don't want to work right now, Rumple said he knew Pan since he himself was a boy and that "growing up, we were incredibly close." Obviously and tangentially, Pan never grew up. All this means is that, if someone did release Pan from Pandora's Box, it wasn't adult Rumple.

Why I don't think the box will contain Pan is that they kind of already used this plot device with the coconuts and the shadow.

No one is right until we get all the answers in upcoming episodes - and that's the fun!

Yeah, I should have said "were growing up together". But honestly, I think that in a world like FTL (similar to the Middle Ages) a 16-year-old boy (he looks like a 16-year-old, doesn't he?) is a bit closer to an adult male than to a child. But that really doesn't matter here. :)

As far as I remember, in the original myth Pandora's Box had contained 2 things - evil and hope. Pandora opened the Box and evil escaped, but hope stayed inside.
So I think in OUAT version there is no evil left in the Box too, it is a mere container with the ability to keep powerful evil safely within it. With no chances to get out of it without Rumple's permission. :)
Well, according to the myth, the Box could still contain Hope, but we have Emma the Saviour and Henry the Heart of the Truest Believer, so there is no obvious need to engage smth else into solving the Pan problem. I think the Box is empty.
I wonder what they will do to the Box afterwards. Leave it on the island to wait until somebody finds it and opens to see what's inside? Or Rumple will take it for safekeeping in his pawnshop?

So am I, and my fears of Pan being Rumple's dad have been assuaged, so I'm not stressing over it either.

And yeah, Marylin is going to be amazing, I just wonder how they're going to introduce him? Is he going to sing to Neal from within the coconut or something?

I am so looking forward to knowing what Rumple's father was like. Obviously he's not a great person but still to see the family who grew up in would be interesting. A bit sad to know that we won't see Storybrooke but they'll be back.
