[identity profile] puppetmaker40.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] abc_onceupon
This is the post for the 5th episode of the 3rd Season.

Y’all know the drill. Please be polite in your speculation and responses. Spoilers are a no-no here.

I want to know what YOU think is going to happen next or happened previously because don’t you love how the time line wraps around.

The press release is already up in this community so I will not repeat it.

Are you going to swoon over Hook’s latest conquest? And does anyone else get a Norington vibe from the preview or is that just me?

I want David to go all protective!Dad on Hook when David realizes that Hook smooched Emma (though it looks like Emma made the first move). Then Emma can remind Charming that she is a grown woman and then let them argue. Emma is holding in some major resentment toward her parents and they need to get it all out.

Rumple needs to join the others. So does Neal. I think it would be awesome for Neal to walk up just as Emma and Hook kiss. Emma had to watch Neal with Tamara, after all. Plus Neal needs to know that Tamara helped kidnap Henry.

Emma would have to decide whether to tell Neal about the kiss. Then there would be the whole "We thought you were dead" thing.

I REALLY want Neal to learn that Tamara is the reason Henry and Emma are in Neverland. That will be so interesting from a dramatic storytelling standpoint.

I think that Rumple's prophecy refers to Pan and not Henry. After all, Rumple and Neal were reunited because of him and it's to easy to have it be Henry.

I was wondering about this too after the last episode. I definitely saw Rumple and Neal reuniting more because of Pan, but, so far, it looks Henry lead Rumple to Neal more so than Pan, and that's what the prophesy says the boy will do. I'd like to think it's Pan too.

Here's the wording of the prophesy if anyone wants to pick it apart with me: "You will be reunited with your son. A boy, a young boy, will lead you to him. But beware, Rumplestiltskin, for that boy is more than he appears. He will lead you to what you seek. But there will be a price. The boy will be your undoing."

I think the wording points more toward Pan than Henry. Pan is more than he appears. He seems to be a young boy. He seems to be leading Rumple to being reunited with his family (which is what Rumple seems to want). Everything on the show comes with a price. And Pan already seems to be getting to Rumple with the doll R's father gave him and stirring up memories.

I want it to be Pan. I love the idea of "whoops, I forgot to carry the one when I read the prophesy" in storytelling generally.

Henry is apparently more than he appears too. He is the truest believe, whatever that is.

Personally, I put more weight on Pan's reuniting of Rumple and Neal. Yes, Henry brought them back together the first time. But Pan, in a way, brought Neal back from the dead for Rumple. That seems more... important, for lack of a better word.

Oooh, let's see...

You will be reunited with your son.
Henry and Pan

A boy, a young boy, will lead you to him.
Henry, as Pan is far from young.

But beware, Rumplestiltskin, for that boy is more than he appears.
Sure, Henry has the special heart, but we've known that's he the biggest believer since the beginning. So this points more to Pan for me.

He will lead you to what you seek.
Henry and Pan

But there will be a price. The boy will be your undoing.
But what? I doubt it's death. They're not going to kill off such an important character. Maybe he'll lose his powers?

"And undoing doesn't mean death either."

Yes. This! Rumple is obviously misinterpreting the prophesy.

I'm kind of thinking of it as the undoing of the curse and that Henry will cause/allow him to give up his dark power, which will then reunite him with Neal. If Neal sees that Rumple can give up his power, then maybe they can form a relationship.

But I'm hoping for an epic showdown between Pan and Rumple and don't want to see Rumple lose his power.

Yep! :D

Yes, I agree, the devil is in the details here.

I thought the same thing about the word undoing. Realistically, they're not going to kill off such an important character. I'm guessing that it'll be the end of his powers as the Dark One. Which would be interesting because it would put him on different footing with Neal and Belle.
