Episode Discussion 3x02: Lost Girl

While Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina and Hook continue their search for Henry in Neverland, Peter Pan appears before a startled Emma and offers her a map that will reveal her son’s whereabouts. But the only way to make the map appear is for Emma to stop denying who she really is and come to grips with her true feelings about her identity – and Mr. Gold receives some unexpected advice from a friend that could lead him to understand his life’s journey while in Neverland. Meanwhile, in the Fairy Tale Land that was, when the Evil Queen presents Snow White with an offer to live her life with Charming in peace – with the caveat that she give up her claim to the throne – Charming makes it his mission to ensure that Snow doesn’t take the offer.

Overall it put me in a happy place.

Nice dialogue. Regina was more like her old self The Charming family dynamic was interesting.

And the sword in the stone was a nice touch.

Love Once Upon a Time, well really just love Lana so I have to watch to see her. Just wondering, if Rumpelstiltskin is such a bad guy then why are the good guys always calling on him for advice.

Excellent question. Rumple seems to spend a lot of time helping Charming and Snow. Maybe it's a case of keep your friends close and your enemies closer. ;)

Another excellent episode. I love the way the writers dovetailed Snow and Emma's "quests" to accept who they really are. I also love that they are revealing more of the backstory. Plus, THE DWARVES! I ♥ Grumpy (and all of them) for being so protective of Snow. Also, I loved that Charming used "Excalibur" to help Snow realize she is a true leader. She actually cut Regina.

Regina had some GORGEOUS gowns in this episode. And it was nice to see the Mirror and her apples.

Hook is endlessly entertaining. Regina had some really good one liners again. I also love that Hook kept agreeing with Charming which annoyed Charming.

I'm not sure where the story with Rumple is going but I'm enjoying watching RC play a blend of Rumple and Gold. He looks smashing in his gear. Of course, I'm curious to know what he did with Eva's necklace once he took it from Snow for wasting his time.

When Emma admitted to Snow that she is a Lost Girl, it was so heartbreaking. Of course, Pan hit it on the head when he told Emma she hadn't forgiven her parents for abandoning her and Henry hadn't forgiven Emma for the same reason. But I have to wonder if Pan told Emma that about Henry just to throw her off kilter.

And David DID get nicked with a poison arrow!!

Of all the things, I don't think Emma giving him up is what's bothering Henry. He knew that if he hadn't gotten adopted by Regina and gone to Storybrooke that Emma never would have made it there. So yeah, I agree with you that Pan's stirring up trouble.

I think it's at least one part Pan messing with Emma. Didn't Henry tell Gold last season that he forgave Emma? That was before he learned that Emma lied about his dad, but still, I think Henry is different from Emma. I don't want to say more forgiving, but I think he recognizes that their situations are different.

I also think having Emma admit she is an orphan is at least one part messing with Snow and David. Yes, it's true, but it does seem like something Emma has always acknowledged (in the very first episode she is called an orphan), even if she had a hard time thinking of it in this episode. But it was something that Snow hadn't been able to admit. I think it might be more useful to Pan to sow discord between the Charmings than it would be to have Emma admit to something she's already known.

You're right. Henry did forgive Emma. You're probably also right about Pan wanting to cause problems with The Charmings. Hook said he's a demon, after all.
