A question of my own.
Dec. 2nd, 2011 07:43 pmDoes Rumplestilskin know Emma is the saviour (I tend to think so)? And if he does, did he bring Henry there on purpose to Regina, knowing it would eventually lead to Emma coming to Storeybrook?
I can't help but wonder if he wants the curse to be broken so that he has his magic again.

I love the questions OUAT poses!

The queen has created a powerful curse and its coming. Soon you will all be in a prison, just like me, only worse. Your prison, all of our prisons, will be time and time will stop and we will be trapped. Someplace horrible where everything we hold dear, everything we love will be ripped from us while we suffer for all eternity while the Queen celebrates Victorious at last. No more happy endings.
We can't do anything, that little thing growing inside your belly. that infant is our only hope, get that child to safety. Get the child to safety and on its 28th birthday, the child will return. The child will find you and the final battle will begin.
Episode One.
It's why he wanted her name. He could forsee some, but not all its why he knew it was a girl but not the name. So he could later find her. And he would keep tabs on her, find out she had a child, would take said child to Storybrooke to bring her "home"

Date: 2011-12-03 05:58 am (UTC)Of course, the show will likely give us a different explanation eventually.

Date: 2011-12-03 04:42 pm (UTC)I mean, it could be that he actually didn't know exactly what he was doing when he did that and that it's just fated that Emma will come on her 28th birthday, so it's fated that the kid Gold brings in from outside is her kid. He knew it would happen before he became Mr. Gold but that doesn't necessarily mean he was consciously following the plan as Mr. Gold.
Still, it does seem like a big coincidence that he is the one who selected Henry, so it does seem likely that he did know what he was doing and that he did remember everything the whole time. I don't know. I think both theories have merit. And we'll find out soon enough which way the show meant it to be.

Date: 2011-12-03 03:24 am (UTC)For me the question resolves more to "What is Rumpels'/Mr. Go;d's" endgame? He was playing both sides of the curse, indicating to me that he, at least, is actually looking for a way out of the Fairy Tale land. He's a trickster character with power, but given his requests from Regina and his desire to know Emma's name, what he's really after is going to be far and away from what we expect.

Possibly.
