I'm back with my discussion questions as promised!

1. Well, let's start with the end as I often do: Will Snow kill Cora? Will they go there? Or will she try but be stopped or stop herself before she can? Will she try and kill someone else by mistake?

2. So I guess Cora is everyone now? Were you fooled by her Blue Fairy impersonation? And let's note that Snow immediately told her mother what had happened after promising to tell no one.

3. Will we see that candle again? I vote yes and wouldn't be surprised if it is a plot point in the next episode. If Snow were to try to kill Cora and get someone else by mistake it would be interesting if she had to use dark magic to fix it.

4. Regina's hatred for Snow has been revealed to be a multi-generational vendetta. What happened between Cora and Eva? Are they family or rivals? Perhaps Cora lost on being queen to Eva, possibly when she broke a deal with Rumpel?

5. 'Have you ever considered that maybe, perhaps, I am good. I was always the queen. It was you that added evil to my name.' Completely delusional or justified? Or somewhere in between? She did deliberately murder at least one person and had a heart wall before anyone called her evil.

6. Where WAS Leopold? I know the actor was busy but still. If the writers are trying to sell us a devoted or even somewhat caring husband and father they once again just made him look creepy and uninvolved. And should we talk about how Eva was barely cold in her grave before he was wandering about looking for a new bride?

7. On the Hook and Gold side, HOW DID he find Gold? NYC is very big!! Cora clearly would not have helped him since it's hard to control the Dark One if he's dead and Gold put a protection spell around his shop so Hook could not have looked at the globe.

8. Bae knows Hook and can sail his ship. Clearly he has been to Neverland and now no one ever again needs to talk about how he could possibly still be alive centuries later. Time travel would have worked for me but this works too and gives him a more complicated backstory.

9. Dagger: real or not? The map was a fake. Belle wouldn't need one in the first place (if she had her memory *g*) and certainly wouldn't make it so easy to find. However, the dagger was really well hidden so that may be real. But then the question is why Gold was willing trust Snow and Charming not to use it against him AND to keep it away from Cora? They failed at both!

10. As far as Hook's ship goes, it seems as though they are playing by the same rules as last season. There is no NEW magic (ie Gold healing himself) outside of magical areas but magical items and magical spells remain magical wherever they are. In the same way Gold's love potion and the apple were magical in the World Without Magic, Hook's ship is magical even outside Storybrooke's borders.

11. And Cora: done with her or you hope she'll be around in the future to to cause pain and mayhem again?

He trusted them because Emma trusted them. And, really, I doubt it was trust but more like a grudging willingness to play fair because he was stabbed and dying and everything.

But honestly, the Charmings had TWO jobs to do. 1. Protect Belle. We see how well they did there. She was kept sedated, lied to, and accessible to Regina. Who, BTW, they just let wander around and do whatever she wants all the time. Despite the fact that she CURSED THEIR ENTIRE WORLD AND MANY OTHERS. Oh, that old thing! Psssshaw!

2. Find the dagger and keep it from Cora. And the first thing they do is contemplate how now the Dark One can be controlled. Charming certainly seemed a little too interested in that prospect. Way to go, guys. That's really nice. Maybe if they'd taken care of item #1, they wouldn't have to worry so much about controlling him! But they couldn't manage to keep it away from Cora anyway, so whatever. Failure all around.

I'm going to shut up now, because this episode actually made me irate. And considering the last episode to make me irate was "Lady of the Lake," I've simply come to the conclusion that I can no longer stand Snow and Charming. More Snow, though, really. She's irrational in her decision-making even though she's supposed to be the leader and protecter of her people, and she's a hypocrite.

bookended nicely against his claim (and Snow's claim about him) at the end of Tiny, of James vs David in terms of ethics.

your opinion makes perfect sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if she is ambivalent, but then impulsively does something that backfires. The expressions on Snow and Charming's faces in the preview certainly look like whatever happened wasn't her plan.

2. So I guess Cora is everyone now? Were you fooled by her Blue Fairy impersonation? And let's note that Snow immediately told her mother what had happened after promising to tell no one.

No, as soon as the Dark Magic idea came out, I was sure it was Cora. I'm actually pretty tired of that ruse!

3. Will we see that candle again? I vote yes and wouldn't be surprised if it is a plot point in the next episode. If Snow were to try to kill Cora and get someone else by mistake it would be interesting if she had to use dark magic to fix it.

ITA with this theory!

5. 'Have you ever considered that maybe, perhaps, I am good. I was always the queen. It was you that added evil to my name.' Completely delusional or justified? Or somewhere in between? She did deliberately murder at least one person and had a heart wall before anyone called her evil.

Just more manipulation - she knows guilt works on Snow!

6. Where WAS Leopold? I know the actor was busy but still. If the writers are trying to sell us a devoted or even somewhat caring husband and father they once again just made him look creepy and uninvolved. And should we talk about how Eva was barely cold in her grave before he was wandering about looking for a new bride?

They could have just had a scene or two of Snow sitting forlornly by the bier or the grave - without the entire court, which just made her father's absence more obvious. BTW, are they trying to sell us a devoted husband/father? (I think I'm getting OUaT mythology confused in my brain with Snow white and the Huntsman)

8. Bae knows Hook and can sail his ship. Clearly he has been to Neverland and now no one ever again needs to talk about how he could possibly still be alive centuries later. Time travel would have worked for me but this works too and gives him a more complicated backstory.

Yes! Now the question is, who is Tamara? Tiger Lily or Tinkerbelle? I'm voting for Tinkerbell, because I'm guessing she is the one who'll help Hook back to Storybrooke, just as Tink led Hook to the Lost Boys.

I just skipped over your questions about Hook because he is the least interesting character on the show for me. Really like Bae, though, and looking forward to the developments of this story with Emma and Henry.

11. And Cora: done with her or you hope she'll be around in the future to to cause pain and mayhem again?

All done. Will not miss her. At all.

given the things the fairies were asking in other eps, I believed it was a fairy.

> -I am good. I was always the queen. It was you that added evil to my name.'- Completely delusional or justified? Or somewhere in between? She did deliberately murder at least one person and had a heart wall before anyone called her evil.
there's a bit of a gap of several years (at least as I recall it)...we see the stuff with Snow and Regina and Glass during Snow's childhood...and then we see the Huntsman ep, followed by scenes of Snow living in the forest.

>And should we talk about how Eva was barely cold in her grave before he was wandering about looking for a new bride?
not liking that either. though in the era of these tales, whether or not Salic Law was observed, "heir and spare" was the rule.

(it was probably less than a full year, though given they wanted to use the same actress to portray Snow's youth...)

ditto!
you'd think that the guy who says "everyone in my Kingdom is happy" could get to his wife's funeral. (or were they not happy yet?)

the clock-dagger's a ruse, a decoy, something to let them fall into a lull.

I think she might have been a better s3 baddie, with brief appearances through s2 - though I can understand why the writers would use Cora to work on Regina's reformation.
