I've had several conflicting opinions about Killian Jones since the character was introduced in . The casting department clearly hit gold with his looks, accent, and general screen presence, but in terms of story I think the writers are trying too hard to have it both ways. They want us to sympathize with his vengeance, but then they consistently pull him back to villain behavior. In that way he's not much different from Regina or Gold, who've been given broad freedom in the story to act as villains or as protagonists, but Hook's character is so in-your-face with the charm factor that the whole dance is starting to annoy me. Nevertheless, it seemed pretty clear with the latest batch of episodes that he's moved from 'chaotic neutral' to full villainy. So let's discuss! Canon and fanon.
