I have the discussion questions for Queen of Hearts!

1. This was an episode with more answers than questions - among other things we know how Hook took Aurora's heart, we know that hearts CAN be put back \o/, we know how that part of FTL survived the curse, we have some idea about how long Belle was imprisoned/what it was like, we know what happened to Cora. Not bad at all on the answers front.

2. Last week (Into the Deep) they hinted that Rumpelstiltskin wanted to be locked up and helped them do it - this week they made it explicit. With that in mind, do you think he wanted Cinderella's baby? Or did he ask for it since he knew it would be the one thing which would push the heroes to decide he was too much of a menace to be free?

3. Relatedly, we see Rumpel using a fairy wand to suck up the magic diamonds. He says this fairy is dead so I think it's likely to be the one from Cinderella's fairy godmother. He also had several other wands. Are these from other fairies he has killed? Or are they ALL the fairy wands since Blue mentioned they don't have them? Why haven't they all come by and demanded them back? Because they are not suicidal since he has magic and they don't? :D

4. And this brings me to the fairy/dwarf relationship. Rumpel sucked up the magic power! He clearly needed a fairy wand to do it so it seems as though fairy wands are quite capable of doing this in general. What exactly do the fairies need the dwarves for? Why are they mining all day when fairies could swoop in and grab some magic when they needed it?

5. Now that the ink has been introduced and we know one needs a mermaid to get it, how long will it be before we see Ariel? Do you think the ink will be instrumental in stopping Cora?

6. It seems as though there ALL KINDS of ways to get to Storybrooke from FTL. Was the curse actually necessary or did someone (besides Rumpel) want the curse to happen? Or do you think most of the ways to get there can only work because the curse was cast? Perhaps the curse acts as a connection between the two lands making travel easier. Which could be part of the reason someone wanted the curse!

7. Are you happy that most of the action will now be in Storybrooke again? How the split work for you? Did you like how previously unexplored relationships were focused on or did you miss having the whole cast together? I found myself especially missing Emma's interactions with others - such as Henry, Regina, and Gold.

8. What do you think was Gold's motive in having Regina along for the ride when he cursed the well? Note that she did absolutely nothing except remove the curse. I have my own ideas but I'm interested in other thoughts.

9. Emma's power is from being the product of True Love? Considering how many True Love couples we have on the show, they should be an army of super-powered people. Or perhaps her being the product of True Love is only part of it and her power comes from some intersection of everything that has happened to her? No matter what, she is going to be a important asset in the fight against Cora.

10. Where do you think Cora keeps her heart? It would have to be a place she could control, feel it's completely safe, and not be obvious.

11. Finally, how DID Cora know all about the curse? She knew about the time limit and the memory loss and that it would take everyone to a new land. That is some excellent intelligence gathering considering she is stuck in another land. Also, will Cora be able to manipulate her daughter into joining with her? Or has Regina finally become her own woman no longer needing mom's approval?

7-I am very glad that everyone now is in storybrooke it was so weird in episodes where you saw the story book characters and not the ones in fairytale land or vise versa, like in Talleasse I dont think once we saw any anything happening in storybrooke it was all beanstock quest and also emma's past. so its cool that everyone is in the same place now.

if hook hadnt tooken Aurora's heart I wonder if she and Mulan would have gone to Storybrooke

there are so many strange things in this script and a lot of questions. and i'm not sure which way autors want them work.
for example - if magic is back why rumpel still has his bad leg? we saw him regenerated doctor's arm in a flash. so what's the problem?

On the Fairy/Dwarf front…I wonder if the refining that the dwarves do has a stabilizing effect, a safety measure direct absorption doesn’t provide. I’m hoping that Regina’s taking on the green magic comes up later in season 2, has an effect on her personality or control, etc. I just seems a bit of a lame out if she can take that in, what was supposed to kill Cora, and oh, she got slammed into a tree that’s it? So maybe it’ll come up then…

Ink, I love this! It can’t be the answer to how Snow could ever hold Regina though, as they clearly didn’t know about it (unless used the quill somehow still not understanding it, but that seems out there, why would she sign anything with them unless, like Rumple, part of a plan). We also know that Regina has referenced having a mermaid problem, so I really hope this comes up again, some side plot/race/manipulation between Rumple and Regina with a mermaid caught in between, sounds like fun .

Yeah, why DID Rumple need a curse to get here, there’s got to be something else we’re missing…

I think Rumple having her there ties him to her again, and, if the town hadn’t caught on/she hadn’t stopped it, would have meant he had a secret to hold over her, and he’s all about having leverage. But also, I think he cares for her in a twisted way he hates that confuses things.

Emma’s power is my least favorite thing the show has done. Really, if they keep going there, hammering the savior bit, it could really turn me off a lot. Fated saviors as a story line, gah, they’re just soo...overdone? flat? Predicable? Just so rarely done in a way I care for. Plus yeah, if going to true love as rare, so her power is rare, more annoying b/c already had a lot of cases of it, and makes the Regina/Daniel situation all the more not okay for no one to care. One of the writers stated you could love again, and Emma/Henry shows more than one type, so just would be lame if that’s how it’s left as the cause…plus, and more importantly. Evil isn’t born, it’s made, but good…oh, born is making it. Lame.

Lots of people in general knowing about the curse, and Regina had nooo idea there was a prophecy? Yeah, back to I think there’s got to be more there… she only did it because she knew it would be broken, just like so many of her other traps, never quite killing anyone.
