- It's been a while since we were so strongly reminded of Emma's "Super Power", I wonder how much being able to tell when someone is lying is going to be connected to who she will be within the fairytale world whether she is a completely new fairy tale character or whether they end up tying her in with an existing one. It's been stressed so many times that I feel it must be significant.
What "Super Power"? Emma failed to realize that Cora was lying to her in the third episode . . . until Snow White pointed out Cora's true nature.
I want to believe that she does have this power but like all powers...there can be flaws...and the flaw being is that SOME people either are skilled at beating her "lie detector" (even though it was Myth busted by Jamie and Adam)...or that some people are good at manipulation SO well that they make Emma second guess herself or go against what her "super power" tells her...
It's not perfect, but it has been proven effective more than once. I can overlook her not realizing Cora was lying because a) she was in a completely new land just hours after discovering magic and fairy tales were real, b) we are talking about Cora who is perfectly capable of using some form of magic to help convince people, and c) she wasn't quite herself in that episode.
