Beauty and the Beast Discussion Post

To inaugurate my new journal I've put up some thoughts regarding how Skin Deep departs from the traditional fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast, I ended up being surprised by how few similarities I came up with.  I'm aiming to generate some ongoing discussion that eventually goes beyond the tale and the television show, but this first post is mostly directly related to Once Upon a Time.  Please, come and let's start some discussion!

I don't know how many of you are aware but there is currently an annual fandom-wide poll (Fandom March Madness) going on and Snow White is currently up against Dean Winchester from Supernatural. She's winning at the moment, but by less than 100 votes so if you're able, please hop over and send some more votes her way. We all know how awesome Snow is, so let's show the rest of Fandom too.

Frederick & Catherine Grimm Tale

So I'm brushing up on some of my original fairy tales to more properly enjoy Once Upon a Time, and I find this story in my volume of Grimm  Frederick & Catherine I find this hilarious.  I know there are a lot of Grimm stories, and the creators/writers had to name a lot of characters - and twice, at that - but come on, this story really doesn't stick in your head?  It has to be the origin of the old, "I sent one drink in to have a look around and when he didn't report back I sent another in to check on him, etc." joke.  Of course, on the show it's technically Abigail and Frederick, but it still made me laugh and hope that for once Frederick is the same in both just for giggles.

Enjoy tonight's episode, everyone!  I'm getting the rare opportunity to watch in real time so I'm excited!
