Once upon a time and the Tarot

I was thinking about Once Upon A Time while driving, (something that happens way too much these days)  As someone who loves her tarot cards, I started thinking if there was a Once Upon A Time Tarot which characters would represent which cards in the Major Arcana?






I thought of Rumpelstiltskin for the Magician immediately, but he’d work for the Devil as well, Snow and Charming for the Lovers.  Red for Strength, Emma for Justice,  David for the Hanged man and the Curse for the Tower.  

Any other fans interested in tarot who’d like to share their ideas on the characters and cards they’d represent?

I think Archie could possibly work as The Hierophant. I'm trying to decide on Regina. She'd be The Devil if not for it being more of a masculine card. I may like Belle for the High Priestess, though I'm not sure.

I love tarot cards, so naturally, I love this as well! Great choices so far. I think Emma could maybe represent the Fool as well, being new to Storybrooke and all. Jefferson could possibly represent the Hermit, because of the whole isolation-thing, Ruby/Red the Moon, Snow as the Empress, and Henry as the Page of Swords....

Wow, it's easy to get carried away with this when you start thinking about it, heh. Gonna take a pause from this for now....

Ooh good call on Archie as the Hierophant and I can see Jefferson as the Hermit.
It's really easy to get carried away with this, especially on a Friday afternoon with a lack of desire to work.

I like the way you're thinking, for sure. What I'd be really interested in is a post which lists out the major arcana and the traits we should be looking for in episodes and newly introduced characters. That would generate additional interest from those of us less familiar with specifics but enchanted with the lore. My deck is based on Gaiman & McKean's work so serves as mostly decorative. :-)
