Date: 2011-11-07 03:16 am (UTC)I also like how Snow got upgraded to Action Girl without gaining inexplicable combat expertise that wouldn't make any sense for her to have. Thieving, riding, and wilderness survival? She's good at it. Actual fighting? Not so much. By the by, what did she do to EQ in the first place? I must know.
I'm interested in seeing how the series handles the multiple princess issue in regards to Charming. Fables just had one Prince Charming who was a womanizing cheater who had been married to each of the fairy tale princesses at one point, but it looks like maybe this show is going to have multiple princes? Shame, it would be fun to see the princesses duke it out over Charming. Maybe Mary Margaret and Catharine can fight at some point. *pout* I just want one bareknuckle brawl between fairy tale princesses, is that so much to ask?
My biggest complaint is that there was zero Rupelstiltskin in this episode, but it looks like the next one will be centered on him. I AM EAGER.

She's not turning into Nikita and doing martial arts combat moves, she's just perfected her survival techniques and using whatever advantage she can get. (that move at the river, blindsiding Charming, haha!)
I so want to know what she did to the queen as well!

Same friend is convinced the Sheriff is Bigby. I dunno since the first issue paperback bored to me to tears.

Date: 2011-11-07 06:40 am (UTC)Sad Ruby was only in one scene (unless I missed something) but I liked what we got. Though I really do hope they explore her more and she isn't just around the be uh... I guess the the sex symbol of the show so to speak.
Love what we got of the Sheriff tonight.
It's nice to see Emma and Mary talking and spending more time together. And Henry being there with both considering. The family moments are cute. And while I haven't really connected with any of these characters yet I do enjoy the family scenes well enough.
Sad there was no Mr.Gold tonight but I guess I can understand why. And next episode seems to be his so yay!
Ad I hate myself for shipping Ruby/Graham since I doubt anything will happen and being intrigued by Ruby/Mr.Gold because again doubt anything will happen.

Date: 2011-11-07 03:16 pm (UTC)I'm a bit disappointed that Rumpel/Gold seems to be nearly as evil as Queen/Regina. I had been expecting him to be more chaotic neutral - a trouble-maker but not really taking sides. But he provided the curse in the first place and while he does enjoy tormenting Regina with what he may - or may not - know, he seems to be on her side. Still, we'll see how that plays out.
My biggest problem with this show is that it truly should have been written as a mini-series, or a one or two season show. With it being an open-ended series, we really cannot look for any resolution of all these story threads because then where would the show go? I want to see Emma defeat Regina. I want to see Snow and Prince Charming get back together. I want Henry to have his happy ending. So although I am liking the show, I always have an expectation of eventual disappointment with it.

However, he has also doomed Regina to failure by bringing her the one child that would open the door to the curse being lifted. And his caveat about "please" leaves me wondering just why he would ask that...

Date: 2011-11-07 06:20 pm (UTC)See, I didn't even watch Lost, but I heard that some things got resolved and others didn't or some people just thought the end left much to be desired. I think one of my biggest fears is that it'll end like that where the writers will screw us over with some kind of clusterf*ck and the notion that "Nope, happily ever afters really don't exist. Sorry guys!"
But I can't help but watch the show anyway... T_________________T

Date: 2011-11-09 11:48 pm (UTC)Oh. Now I ship it like no one's business. Never mind. Rewatching Snow Falls. IMO it was the best episode of OUAT yet in terms of the story and connecting the stories of the two worlds, so I think the show's definitely hitting a stride.
