Looking back, since Emma claimed to be able to tell if someone was lying, I wonder how she read Regina? I have no doubt that Regina genuinely loves Henry; I wonder what Emma thought though.
From the look on Emma's face, she looked a little skeptical but she never asked again so I'd say she believed her. I'm reading OUaT Awakened which has all the episodes from S1 in novel form. Odette Beane writes it as thought Emma believes Regina.
