Greg & Tamara

After the look at Peter Pan, I thought it'd be good to go back to these two. So, what do we have to say about them?

1. When Greg first came to town, we saw him run down Hook just after Belle went over the town line. Knowing that Storybrooke had been hidden from the real world until the curse broke, how did he find Storybrooke so fast?

2. In 1980s Storybrooke, we're introduced to Owen and Kurt who'd been camping in the woods as the curse landed the town. Did you make the immediate connection that Owen = Greg, or did it take seeing the keychain in his car and his promise to find Kurt?

3. Who did you imagine the "home office" to be before the reveal that they were working for Pan?

4. What do you imagine Tamara's backstory is, since her story was never told?

5. I'd read that fans hoped Tamara would turn out to be from the Enchanted Forest too as the princess from The Princess and the Frog. Thoughts on that?

I wonder if these characters will remain relevant at any point in context of future story, or whether they're gone now that the main Neverland story has wrapped. Yes, we may experience Pan again in some context, but were these two more convenient devices than characters who merit any sort of longevity? August seems on the back burner with the direction they took Pinocchio, and Neal is buried, so Tamara's connections to them seem moot at this point, too.

I admit I never really cared for or got invested in either of them.

I'm wondering about that too. I didn't much care for or got invested in them either, but I kept hoping the show would do something interesting with them that would make me care, and part of me is still hoping. I'd have liked to know who they had contact with and who they thought the home office was. And also what Tamara's motivation were (and maybe about the grandmother?).

1. There was so much going on in that scene - Hook shooting Belle and her subsequent memory wipe, the car barreling through, everyone showing up, the rain. I still have trouble grasping everything and usually replay that scene a few times when I rewatch. The fact that someone came into town from the outside was pretty much the least of my concerns on the first watch.

2. I actually figured that it tied in somehow. I don't think I knew right away that he was Owen, but I did know before the reveal.

3. I never suspected Pan. Of course, they all showed up in Season 2 and Pan wasn't really introduced until Season 3. I just figured there were a bunch of humans out there who found out something weird was going on in Maine, and decided to distrust it.

4 & 5. I think Tamara has some kind of link to the EF that she's buried away. I would really imagine that her family was wronged by Regina or Cora in some way. I wouldn't mind seeing that explored, but doubt the show will revisit it at this point.

I actually wish we had seen Tamara's backstory. Anyone who knows me knows this, but I'm always interested in the minor characters and would rather see backstory on them than the same main characters over again (Regina vs Snow, I'm looking at you, you ended up becoming my "Jack's tattoos"!)

I'm possibly one of the few fans who didn't hate Greg. Looking at it from his POV, he'd lost his father and didn't fully understand what had happened, and his story was something that wasn't going to be believed so he'd have had to have spent years with either people thinking he was crazy, or telling some fake story about what happened to his father, so really it's natural that he would have developed the hate for magic that he did. I didn't feel sympathy for Tamara, but if I'd known her story that might have changed.

Re him finding it so fast, I wonder whether over the years, if he remembered roughly where he'd been camping, whether he'd kept on going back to the area in the hope Storybrooke would reappear.

Or . . . her family could have been wronged by Rumpelstiltskin or Maleficent.

I actually felt more sorry for Tamara, because she felt remorse for what she did and actually tried to help Henry escape from the Lost Boys. I have not forgiven Rumpelstiltskin for what he did.
