Hiatus HighJinx I’ll Go Down with the Ship Week 5

I read OUAT-confessions on Tumblr. It is interesting to see what the fans are talking about and thinking about.

So I ran across one that said that they were disappointed that there was not more Red/Cricket love in the OUaT community.

So lets give Ruby and Archie a little more love.

This weeks ship is Red/Cricket.

1. What do you think works about this couple?

2. Can you see the two of them at the Rabbit Hole playing darts or shooting pool? Long walks in the woods?

3. Does Pongo get along with Red?

4. Do you think that Archie calms the wild child in ruby or does Ruby help him find his wild side or both?

5. What do you think the rest of the town might feel about this relationship?

3. lol I think Pongo would be afraid of her, sensing her wolf side.

I could not ship it, they are way too different, not even in an "opposites attracts way". But that's just me, others are free to ship whatever they like.

1. I never gave much thought to this pairing until I had to write a fic about a failed date for a couple. I couldn't see given RumBelle or, really, any of my other favorite Once pairings a distastrous date, so I got to wondering who might be an awful pairing who originally got together with good intentions, kind of like the age-old story where the two people go out on a date and then find out all they've really got going is a good friendship.

That's when I really delved into the pairing, and boy, was I surprised! Archie and Red played wonderfully off of each other, and I found Ruby liking the fact that Archie was there for her with what the night brought. He didn't push her; he didn't judge her. He just helped her and stood beside her like a real man.

Needless to say, writing that tale was quite fun, and I haven't looked at the two again in quite the same light since. :-)

2. I don't really see them going to the Rabbit Hole much. Ruby might drag Archie there a few times, but it isn't his kind of scene. He'd be more likely to surprise her in "persuading" her to like what he likes -- introducing her to things he wants to share with her, things and situations she doesn't expect to like but ends up enjoying. And of course, with a deep, soulful, and quiet man like Archie and a wolfy girl like Red, they're bound to enjoy long walks in the woods.

3. Of course, Pongo gets along with Red! We've already seen that on the show, and given their unique bond (wolfgirl and dog), I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Pongo cooked something up to put them together.

4. A bit of both, actually. Beings in the best pairings always bring out the better side of each other and the hidden parts that are like them, so yeah, definitely a bit of both. Ruby would find herself surprisingly liking the quiet times with Archie (Perhaps reading would be one? He'd definitely be a reader like Belle.)

5. They'd definitely be surprised, I believe. Regina would be snide toward Ruby even more and wouldn't like it, probably secretly being concerned Ruby's involvement with Archie might hurt her tentative friendship with him, and Snow might well possibly be jealous.
