Hiatus HighJinx I’ll Go Down with the Ship Week 4

This week a little Bromance because World Cup and lots of guys in shorts and good legs on TV. Plus I was watching ‘Lacey’ the other night.

So Charming Gold or David Nolan/Charming and Mr. Gold/Rumplestilskin

1) Is there a name for this ship since I made mine up?

2) Can you see these two going out and knocking back a few? What would they talk about?

3) Who owes who a favor now and what do you think that favor might be?

4) Consider the encounters between these two in the Enchanted Forest and in Storybrooke, which one do you think they got along better?

5) How do you see their relationship going?

1. I've never seen a really official name. I've seen Golden Charm and Dark Charm before, among others. Oh and I've seen some refer to them as Team Hot Grandpas.

2. Ok first of all this is totally my BroTP. I've written the occasional BroTP fic of these two (AND NEED MORE). I absolutely love their dynamic together. The whole Wingman Charming scene in Lacey was brilliant. I do have a really hard time imagining them just going out to hang out though. I think the ladies might talk them into it, since they're both Henry's Grandfathers. I imagine a LOT of attempts at conversation on Charming's side and a lot of snarking on Rumple's side.

3. Rumple owes Charming a favor. He probably got in deep shit with Belle SOMEHOW and went to Charming for help. Because I really think that despite all his snarking about him, Rumple looks up to Charming a bit (literally as well as figuratively! lol). He's the one person he's actually gone to for help...in finding Belle and in trying to get her back after she became Lacey. So I can imagine Rumple going to Charming AGAIN when he does something stupid and Belle is mad at him (hello dagger switch?).

4. This is a tough call. I think perhaps in Storybrooke. While they both wanted the other to stay out of their way, they've worked together a number of times. I think that Rumple going to Charming would win him over a bit.

5. Rocky? Difficult? Complicated? As most of Rumple's relationships are! They have a sort of strange, antagonistic, snarky friendship thing going on (THAT I NEED MORE OF I SWEAR) and it's not likely that Rumple will ever just be the sort of guy to go out and do "guy things" with anyone.

Bromance? I totally ship them a bit ever since that sword fight in the season one finale. Mmmmm.

Anyway, I love their dynamic in the episode in season two where they look for Belle together – I want fanfic where they're a private detectives agency! I loved how that worked, with David reluctantly tagging along and being all "yeah that guy we're asking for information, you know you turned his dad into a pig?" "okay, let's not beat the witness unconscious, how about that?". Poor guy. And then in the Lacey episode – I'd say Charming is not the best person to ask for advice, considering the David Nolan debacle and the fact Rumple had to arrange a good part of his love story, but then again Rumple needs it. xD

I think (hope) there's something about the life-saving potion Gold gave David. (If only because if not that whole thing was pretty anticlimactic.)

I think they would talk about Henry, their wives, marriage, baby Neal, and Regina.

I think Gold owes David a favor now since David helped him out with Belle/Lacey and also didn't say anything in S1 when Gold was buying rope and duct tape. ;)

4) Consider the encounters between these two in the Enchanted Forest and in Storybrooke, which one do you think they got along better?

Well, they don't seem to engage in swordfights in Storybrooke. Plus, Gold is less...flamboyant...than he is as Rumple so he has more in common with David.

5) How do you see their relationship going?

A cautious friendship. David seems more interested in hanging out with Hook and Robin. Of course, the four of them could be dangerous to Storybrooke. LOL!
