3. In my opinion this season has tried to make it clear that Rumpelstiltskin did lose his memory with everyone else. (Or at least establish that he did in fact have Storybrooke memories hence the need for the scarf and potion.) Did his scene in this episode show a man without his FTL memories or not? He seemed to have a much softer/more unguarded look in his eyes and no hint of a smirk.
It baffles me that this is even still a question. It has been established in canon through Rumple's actions AND confirmed by the creators that he didn't have his FTL memories until he heard Emma's name in the Pilot. Hence the weird scroll with her name written on it a million times, and the very cold, controlled person we saw in this episode. THAT was "Mr. Gold." So, yes, he obviously has Storybrooke memories and did not become Rumplestiltskin again until the Pilot. I don't think the man we saw in "Welcome to Storybrooke" would have hunted Regina down at her apple tree and trolled her.
9. So, cursing Cora's heart caused Snow's heart to become blackened. Or least to start the process. She has committed crimes and harmed others in the past but apparently kept her perfectly red heart. What is the difference here? Intent (vengeance)? Use of black magic? The cold and calculated way she fooled Regina?
My headcanon is that it completely has to do with the use of black magic. She used dark magic for a dark deed, hence she darkened her heart. Had she simply hit Cora with an arrow in self-defense, I think Snow's heart would have been fine.
