It can be hard to tell what they've decided to gloss over and what they have put in as puzzle pieces for later episodes sometimes! But I would not be at all surprised if his leg is a plot point at some point in the season. As you note they made it clear that he can reattach limbs if he so desires. Fixing what is wrong with his leg cannot be too big a deal for him.
