Summary: Set after ‘The Stranger’; Emma’s still not ready to forgive August but August knows he doesn’t have much time left to make sure Emma understands how he really feels about her.

Author’s Notes: This actually ended up being a lot sweeter than I intended it to be and a lot more heartbreaking, but I think you’ll all enjoy it anyway. I have seriously never cried so much while writing something, so trust me when I say this is more than just a smut fic. I also loosely borrowed parts of August’s big speech to Emma from the movie Friends with Kids, which if you haven’t all seen, you should, like now.
