For our final Hiatus Hijinx / What a Character! feature before Season 4 begins next week (YAAAAAAAY!), we'll go with the ever intriguing Jefferson/Mad Hatter. :D

1. Why did Jefferson retain his memories when everyone else lost theirs?

2. When Mary Margaret knocked Jefferson out the window of his mansion and he was gone that fast, how did he so quickly get away?

3. What do you imagine his life in Wonderland being like?

4. How did the curse pull him over when he was in Wonderland? Theories?

5. If Sebastian Stan could come back, what sort of Jefferson/Mad Hatter story would you want to see?

1. Why did Jefferson retain his memories when everyone else lost theirs?

I guess it was because he was in Wonderland. If really everybody (also Mulan and everybody not in Storybrooke, plus August) also would lose his memory. But they didn't. So I guess it was because he wasn't around when the curse hit everybody else.

2. When Mary Margaret knocked Jefferson out the window of his mansion and he was gone that fast, how did he so quickly get away?

Maybe because he had the hat. I don't remember right now but didn't Emma suceeded with that last hat before he fell out of the window? Maybe he went to another place.

3. What do you imagine his life in Wonderland being like?

Just terrible.

4. How did the curse pull him over when he was in Wonderland? Theories?

5. If Sebastian Stan could come back, what sort of Jefferson/Mad Hatter story would you want to see?

Something with Grace. :3 Maybe both also found a way back to the Enchanted Forest? That would be cool. ;D

1. Why did Jefferson retain his memories when everyone else lost theirs?

I think Jefferson explained to Emma. From what I remember, he said that remembering his life from Fairytale Land was Regina's way to punish him, knowing he could not be with is little girl because she did not know who he was.

2. When Mary Margaret knocked Jefferson out the window of his mansion and he was gone that fast, how did he so quickly get away?

I thought it was because of the hat made by Emma. But a few episodes later, we saw that he was still in Storybrooke, so maybe he was just able to run quickly.

3. What do you imagine his life in Wonderland being like?

It seems he spent all his free time trying to make a hat that would work to get back to his little girl, going mad in the process.

4. How did the curse pull him over when he was in Wonderland? Theories?

Maybe he had been able to come back, or either of the Queen (Cora, or Regina) got him back to Fairytale Land for some reason.

5. If Sebastian Stan could come back, what sort of Jefferson/Mad Hatter story would you want to see?

I wonder what he would do in Storybrooke, but I would love to see him happy with his girl, and maybe start dating someone since there's plenty of single characters like Red, Tink, etc. Somehow, I don't think we'd see him being happy, because I guess the writers might consider that out of character. lol

I think it's a combination of what both people said above: because he was in Wonderland rather than the Enchanted Forest, the curse worked differently. (Though Dr. Whale was also taken from a different world--the Land Without Color--and he didn't seem to have his memories.) And because the Regina wanted to punish him and that was the only way she knew how.

Terrible.

4. How did the curse pull him over when he was in Wonderland? Theories?
Regina said she took who she wanted to take. So she wanted to continue to punish him. Or she knew she might want a way back later and he could provide a way. Which might by why she left him with his memories.

5. If Sebastian Stan could come back, what sort of Jefferson/Mad Hatter story would you want to see?
When we first saw him and Regina interact in season one, it was clear that he and Regina had a back story. It seemed to me more than just the little bit we saw involving him, Viktor, Rumple, and Daniel. He knew how to go between (some) worlds (I don't know why Rumple never used him to try to get to Bae's world). I kind of imagined him as a smuggler. I'd like to see that.
