Finding out what's going on in this strange little town, I suppose. He's seen far too much to just let it be and pay no attention to irrational things like fireballs and ever-young Regina.
And it's possible that Owen and his poor father are not just random ordinary people at the wrong time in the wrong place. They might be a part of the curse too. Owen planted a desire to adopt a child into Regina's heart, and an adopted child finally brought the Saviour to Storybrook. Too perfect to be a coincidence...


8. Regina found that curse in her mother's clothing. Was that what Cora planned to do with Regina if Regina hadn't come around and forgiven her? And whose heart would be the person Cora most hated? Rumpelstiltskin perhaps? She loved him but hated him too.

Cora was going to stab Rumplestiltskin with his dagger to take his power. I doubt that a heart of an already dead man would work for the curse. Cora desired to turn Snow to evil as an act of revenge to Eva. Surely it involved some hatred from her side. So...Snow's heart could be a cross functional option for both Regina and Cora.
