In Darkness on the Edge of Town, the symbols on the rock where Regina frees the nuns from the hat] are Anglo-Saxon runes. It says ᚷᚱᚩᚢᚾᛞ ᚻᚨᛚᛚ, which transliterates as "ground hall".
